MVPs attending the launch of Office 2003 stayed at the W at Times Square. This was a really great area of New York to be in: it's loud and brash and there always seemed to be something happening on the streets.
The W hotel, where the MVPs attending the launch stayed, rises above the Half Tix booth and advertising hoardings of Times Square.

Looking down on Times Square from my hotel room.
From the hotel looking toward the river.
From the hotel at dusk.
Times Square is exciting, brash, busy, noisy and filled with more advertising hoardings than one can imagine.

Advertising that is literally bigger than real life
Times Square never seems to shut down. The lights stay on all night, the noise does not abate. Why one needs street lights in this area is not clear to me.
